Calling All Polyglots!
Next Sunday, May 23, we observe the Feast of Pentecost, the day (50 days after Easter) when - among other things - the early Christians received the gift of the Holy Spirit and were able to understand various "tongues."

Many parishes mark Pentecost by reading a passage from Scripture (Acts 2:1-11) in several languages; you may recall that we did this on Zoom last year. It was a lot of fun!

If you are planning to attend next Sunday's outdoor service and are able to read in a language other than English, please consider reading a couple of verses of the Acts passage in that "tongue." Fluency is absolutely not a requirement!

To volunteer, please email me by Thursday, May 20, so that I can get you your verse(s) as soon as possible.

In the past I have been able to find translations in most languages, so please let me know your preference! (Arabic, German, and Spanish are already spoken for.)  The more folks who volunteer, the less any one person will need to read.

We will have a *brief* run-through at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, immediately before the service.

I look forward to hearing from you! ~ Patty

Wear Red this Sunday!

Please join us outdoors on the Feast of Pentecost this Sunday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m.! In addition to celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit (the "Birthday of the Church"), we will bid farewell to our Senior Seminarian Intern, Robin Reed, and her husband, Mike Brown, and will thank them for their many contributions to this parish over the past two years. Music will be courtesy of the always-lively Joseph Arkfeld Quartet...and rumor has it that there may be cupcakes!

If you plan to attend Sunday's service, please consider taking an active role in the service by setting up, cleaning up, reading a lesson, leading prayers, or directing traffic during Communion.

Please use this link to volunteer:

Also: Remember to wear RED, if possible, this week.
(Orange or yellow work, too...The idea is to suggest "tongues, as of fire.")

We hope to see you Sunday!
