From the Rector
Dear friends,
On behalf of your Vestry and myself, I want to extend a sincere "thank you" to those who already have pledged your financial support to St. Dunstan's for 2021. I love the theme of this year's Stewardship campaign, What Can Love Do?, because it reminds me - especially in this challenging year - of the transformational potential of God's love. It invites us each to consider how we have experienced that love ourselves, and the ways in which Jesus is calling us here at St. Dunstan's to share that love with our community, our nation, and the world.
Of course, in order to have the kind of transformational impact that we desire, we need to ensure that this parish has sufficient resources to fund our mission and ministries, going forward. Recognizing the many stressors we all are facing this year, I hope that you will consider prayerfully how you might support St. Dunstan's during this extraordinary time. Your pledge - of any amount - will enable us to embrace our future faithfully and joyfully, even in this difficult season.
If you are ready to make your 2021 pledge to St. Dunstan's, please click the campaign logo below to be taken to our online pledge form. If it would help to have a confidential conversation before committing your support for the coming year, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. I look forward to talking - and, more importantly, listening - to you.
I give thanks for every one of you and for the myriad ways God has continued to bless us throughout this pandemic.
Faithfully and sincerely,

Daily Prayer with Redeemer
You have two opportunities for prayer every week day,
  • Each morning at 10 a.m. the Rectors of St. Dunstan's and our sister parish, the Church of the Redeemer, will offer Prayers for the Morning the old-fashioned way...by telephone! No worries about Zoom fatigue: All you need to do is call our dedicated "prayer hotline" (508.924.1769) and either Patty Alexander or Cricket Park will be on to pray with and for you.
  • As well, you are invited to join friends from St. Dunstan's and Redeemer at 8 p.m. every evening, M-F, for Compline, the "good night prayer" of the Church. These services will be lay-led and will draw on a variety of sources, including our own 1979 Book of Common PrayerA New Zealand Prayer Book, Celtic Compline, and more! To participate in the Zoom, please use this link (Meeting ID: 754 5686 5769; Passcode: 2020).
Help Wanted!
Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington Partner Parish Representative
Please consider serving as St. Dunstan’s next Samaritan Ministry Partner Parish Representative! Established in 1986 under the auspices of the Episcopal Church, Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington has a proven track record of transforming the lives of homeless and jobless people in the greater DC area. In the past St. Dunstan’s has played a key role in this work: this year alone, our Outreach Committee has granted SMGW $2,500 in support of their life-changing ministry in our community.
As a Parish Rep, you would represent St. Dunstan's at approximately six partner meetings per year and would help coordinate our participation in SMGW events. This is a meaningful and important ministry, and we hope that you will give prayerful consideration to this opportunity. For more information about Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington, please visit their website. To volunteer as Partner Parish Rep or to explore whether this might be your call, please contact Patty Alexander.
Children, Youth, and Families
St. Dunstan's is now accepting applications for a part-time Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries, and we need your help to spread the word!
Please share this position description with anyone whom you think might be interested in applying.
