Adult Formation Hour
This Sunday, September 26
Exactly What Is a Deacon?
After the service this Sunday, September 26, join Deacon Mary for a short slide show on the history and purpose of the diaconate, or order of deacons. Find out how deacons help the laity discern and fulfill their baptismal ministries and live out the Gospel.
Color in a picture of a deacon during the presentation! And, yes, there will be a quick quiz at the end, maybe even a prize!
Garden Day at the Cathedral
Unfortunately, the Washington National Cathedral has had to cancel the Garden Day scheduled for Sunday, September 26. The gardens remain open to the public, and you are encouraged to visit when you have a chance. You also may tour the gardens online at the All Hallows Guild website.

The Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 3
(The Feast of St. Francis)
4 p.m.
Outdoors at St. Dunstan's
As we observe the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, join us for the Blessing of the Animals and All Creation next Sunday, October 3, at 4 p.m.! We will gather on the church grounds (or, in the event of rain, in the Parish Hall) to give thanks for the gift of God’s Creation and to ask God’s blessing on the beloved animals in our lives. We will be joined by our neighbors from Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ, and there will be treats for pets and humans alike.
All creatures, great and small, are welcome...and in the interest of keeping the peace, we do ask that animals be leashed, crated, or otherwise appropriately restrained.
Thank you!
