“Seeing Deeper” Week at Washington National Cathedral: February 10-14, 2020
Once a year, the staff at the Washington National Cathedral clear the chairs out of the nave and offer a weeklong series of special programming in that glorious, broad space. Offerings this year include special lighting and music, yoga, contemplative prayer for peace, and a fun “Second Chance Prom.” For further information about this special week at the Cathedral, please visit the "Seeing Deeper" page on their website.
Sunday, February 23: “Mardi Gras” Jazz Mass
On February 23rd, the Joseph Arkfeld Quintet will be returning to St. Dunstan’s to perform a Jazz Mass in celebration of Mardis Gras. Don’t miss this opportunity to worship with the help of some incredible musicians! Playing that day will be bassist Steve Arnold, percussionist Keith Butler, saxophonist Sarah Marie Hughes, French horn player Abe Mamet, and our own Minister of Music and Organist, Joey Arkfeld, at the keyboards. The Quintet will be performing a number of Joey’s original liturgical jazz pieces, as well as a healthy dose of some great Gospel hymns. We hope to see you there!
Join the Flower Guild!
The incredibly talented and faithful St. Dunstan’s Flower Guild is looking for additional members...Could this be you? If you are creative or love flowers, the answer is yes! Please mark your calendar for a Flower Arranging Workshop on Saturday, March 14 here at the church; exact time TBD. All are welcome! There will be a small fee to cover materials. For more information about the workshop, please email Rosemarie Barrett.
Midweek Eucharist - Every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
The Holy Eucharist is celebrated in the church on Wednesday mornings at 11:30 a.m., and you are warmly welcome to join us! This “come as you are” service (without music) lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes optional prayers for healing. Come for Bible Study and 10:30 and stay, or just pop in for worship at 11:30…you will be exactly “on time,” whenever you arrive. (Please feel free to bring infants and young children, too.)
